A New Cultural Typeface for a Historic Club

FC Barcelona Modernista kit typography inspired by Antoni Gaudi architectural style

Inspired by Gaudí, FC Barcelona is reinventing the back of its shirt.

 

For the 2026–2027 season, the club is replacing its standard sporting typeface with a custom font called FC Barcelona Modernista. Presented at MACBA, Barcelona’s contemporary art museum, the new typography draws directly from Catalan modernism, with fluid curves and ornamental details inspired by Gaudí’s visual universe.
